economic – of sustainable development. Concrete is a versatile construction material and because of
its qualities it is used in building sky scrapers, bridges, dams, tunnels, sewage systems, airports,
harbors, high ways and more.

Concrete is one of the biggest discoveries in the field of civil engineering which almost revolutionised the world, as now used in almost every engineering structure, from foundation to the roof because of its various properties like workability ,strength ,plasticity etc.

But it requires some basic skills to properly design your concrete mix according to your structure

So, get ready because in this technozion we are gonna provide you a platform where u can come up with your own concrete mix satisfying the constraints & ultimately checking their strength by casting them into cubes

 

PROBLEM STATEMENT:

     Design a concrete mix for a particular grade of concrete(decided on spot) which have best slump value, best compaction factor value & desired strength.

ROUND 1:

 It’s an aptitude test which assesses your passion towards civil engineering and general idea of concrete technology .qualified people will make their way to second round. 

ROUND 2:

Design a suitable mix proportion for the desired strength. Strength (grade of concrete) will be announced on the spot. You will be supplied with relevant codes. Qualified people will make their way to third round.  

ROUND 3:

 Mould a suitable concrete cube which can give better slump value, compaction factor value and the desired strength as announced in Round-2.

  1. Concrete cube which u have casted must have a minimum strength(grade of concrete),which was announced in the round 2.If not, accordingly points will be deducted
  2. Concrete mix with the best slump value, compaction factor value, & desired strength will be the winner.
  1. Interested people can participate in a team of either of 2 or 3 .
  2. Googling during the aptitude test is prohibited
  3. Once you have designed your concrete mix, you need to stick to it during the casting process also i.e.  in the 3rd round also. small errors are accepted but large deviations will lead to deduction of points

Q1 What kind of questions will be asked in the aptitude test?

Ans: It will be related to concrete technology(literally basic) & some facts regarding      civil engineering wonders in the world

 

Q2 How long will be the event?

Ans: Aptitude round & designing round will be done on 1st day, casting can be done on 2nd day in morning & results will be declared on the last day
